Most of my YouTube consumption is music. Below are the videos I’ve watched many times. Paul is responsible for much of these. Not all great music but I keep returning. If current trends hold I’ll eventually be adding a Rae song or two (though I suspect she’s against everything I stand for). I admit that there’s not enough sacred music represented. I like to sing but don’t often listen.
A song about love for the Land:
This grainy video is my favorite rendition of “Mary, Did you Know?”
Not my favorite Isakov song, but the video gets me hankerin’ for the west:
A weird guy singing a song with lyrics that don’t quite make sense but somehow it grabs me:
A cover far better than the original. And that sustained note…cuom awn!
A strange song in a pretentious setting but this young woman got to me:
Thank you, Josh Prouty, for introducing this song to me.
Two masters in harmony:
It’s the back story. Fathers/sons…
I first remember hearing this song on my honeymoon. Still love you, Tonia!
Sometimes it IS all about talent and charisma
The back story. A fill in, obviously nervous, but the song took off:
The historical setting. This crowd is hungry for the west, even (especially?) the slightly depraved parts. Kai sent this to me.
Some favorites expose one’s shallowness!
Charm!
Beautiful text. Beautiful melody.
The setting!… and then perfectly pulled off.
Can’t explain but I keep going back for more:
First time I heard it I thought, here’s a voice that can keep up with Groban!
Talent and charisma in prime:
The strange master playing the song perfectly:
I’m ashamed that I like this. I suspect that Jacob Collier stands for everything I’m against
The young and old masters playing the old master
Marking an era coming to a close:
Short answer: yes!
